Last updated: 2026/06/04
1. Purpose and Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy (the “Policy”) governs your use of MeetYourGuide.ai (the “Platform”), owned and operated by MeetYourGuide (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/426905/07), a private company registered in the Republic of South Africa. It applies to every user — Clients, AI Guides, and visitors — and forms part of, and must be read together with, our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and POPIA Notice. By accessing or using the Platform you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
2. General Standards of Conduct
You agree to use the Platform lawfully, honestly, and respectfully. In particular, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information about yourself and your business.
- Use the Platform only for its intended purpose — connecting Clients with AI Guides for legitimate AI-related help.
- Comply with all applicable South African and international laws and regulations.
- Respect the rights, privacy, and dignity of other users.
3. Prohibited Activities
You must not use the Platform — or engage an AI Guide, or offer your services as an AI Guide — for any of the following:
- Illegal activity: Anything that violates any applicable law, regulation, or court order, or that promotes, facilitates, or instructs others in illegal activity.
- Fraud and deception: Fraud, scams, phishing, identity theft, false or misleading claims, fake reviews, or impersonation of any person or organisation.
- Financial crime: Money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, or processing payments on behalf of an undisclosed third party.
- Intellectual-property infringement: Copying, distributing, or creating work that infringes any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other proprietary right, including building tools or content from unlawfully obtained material.
- Harmful or abusive conduct: Harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, or content that incites violence or discrimination against any person or group.
- Unlawful or harmful content: Child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, or any sexually explicit or pornographic content or services.
- Malicious technology: Creating, distributing, or deploying malware, ransomware, spyware, credential harvesters, or tools designed to gain unauthorised access to systems or data.
- Spam and unsolicited messaging: Bulk, unsolicited, or deceptive communications, or automated tools intended to send them, in breach of applicable electronic-communications and consumer-protection laws.
- Privacy violations: Unlawfully collecting, scraping, processing, or selling personal information, or using AI to do so in breach of POPIA or any other data-protection law.
- Platform abuse: Circumventing security controls, the bidding/token mechanics, the paywall, rate limits, or attempting to arrange payment or contact in order to evade platform fees in breach of our Terms of Use.
- System interference: Disrupting, overloading, reverse-engineering, or attempting to gain unauthorised access to the Platform, its infrastructure, or other users' accounts.
4. Prohibited and Restricted Businesses
Consistent with the requirements of our payment partner, Paystack, the Platform and its token purchases may not be used in connection with the following businesses, goods, or services (this list is illustrative, not exhaustive):
- Illegal drugs, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, and unapproved supplements.
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives, and related accessories where prohibited or unlicensed.
- Counterfeit goods, replicas, or items that infringe intellectual-property rights.
- Stolen goods, or goods obtained or sold unlawfully.
- Unlicensed gambling, betting, lotteries, or games of chance.
- Pyramid schemes, Ponzi schemes, multi-level marketing, or “get-rich-quick” schemes.
- Unlicensed financial services, unregistered securities, and high-risk or fraudulent investment schemes.
- Adult content or services, escort or prostitution services.
- Human trafficking or exploitation of any kind.
- Trade with sanctioned countries, entities, or individuals.
- Any other business prohibited under Paystack's acceptable-use and prohibited-business policies or under South African law.
5. Responsible Use of AI
Because the Platform connects users with AI expertise, you additionally agree not to use the Platform to commission, build, or deliver:
- Deepfakes, synthetic media, or impersonations intended to deceive, defame, or defraud.
- Disinformation, manipulated content, or material designed to interfere with elections or mislead the public.
- Automated systems that discriminate unlawfully or make high-stakes decisions without appropriate human oversight or legal basis.
- AI systems that surveil, profile, or track individuals without a lawful basis and their knowledge.
- Tools that facilitate academic dishonesty, plagiarism, or circumvention of safety or content-moderation systems.
6. Content Standards
All content you submit — including job postings, bids, profiles, messages, and reviews — must be accurate, lawful, and free of the prohibited material described above. You must not post sensitive personal data, passwords, API keys, payment-card numbers, or confidential third-party information in any public field. We may remove, edit, or refuse any content that breaches this Policy, and we operate automated and human moderation to detect abuse.
7. Payments and Tokens
Token purchases are processed by Paystack. You must use only payment methods you are lawfully authorised to use, and you must not initiate fraudulent transactions, unwarranted chargebacks, or use the Platform to test, validate, or launder payment instruments. Any attempt to do so will result in immediate suspension and may be reported to Paystack and the relevant authorities.
8. Enforcement and Consequences
We take breaches of this Policy seriously. Depending on the severity, we may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice: remove content; issue a warning; restrict, suspend, or permanently terminate your account; reverse or withhold token transactions where permitted; and report unlawful activity to Paystack, law-enforcement, or regulatory authorities. You remain responsible for any loss or liability arising from your breach, as set out in our Terms of Use.
9. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any content or activity on the Platform that breaches this Policy, please report it to us via the Contact page or from the Messages area of your dashboard. We investigate all credible reports and act where appropriate.
